My work is a continual interest in recording man’s mark on nature, his use of natural materials to craft and build, and the process of aging and weathering - objects that have taken on more organic qualities, rotting and returning to nature.

I work from my sketches, which form the foundation to my paintings, cramming as much detail into my sketch book as possible so that I can recreate a scene once back in the studio using the impressions left on my memory to fill in any gaps. I paint in watercolour for it’s unpredictable quality and delight in the  sometimes unexpected results.
